Siege
“Those who are outside want to get in, and those who are inside want to get out.” – Fortress Besieged (1947)
The world we live in is like a fortress. Those who are out want in, and those who are in want out.
Those inside push outward, and those outside squeeze inward. There is no respite for the crumbling walls.
Those headed out have forced their way out, and those headed in have forced their way in. It should have been happily ever after.
But the walls have been breached. Lifes have shattered. I'm still outside your walls. You're still inside your walls. I can't get in and you can't get out.
We're still inside our own walls.
